The Bull Shoals Library Friends luncheon and style show is set Friday, August 13th, at First Baptist Church in Bull Shoals. Lunch is set for 11 a.m., with a style show from the Little Bit Used Shop following at 12:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 and are available at Bull Shoals Library or Little Bit Used Shop. Seating is limited.

SEMINAR ON DISASTER PREPAREDNESS

Where: Marion County Senior Center on State Highway 202.

The seminar will be on disaster preparedness and information on disaster kits for homes, cars and pets. The seminar, by Marion County Office of Emergency Management, is free and open to all citizens older than 60. Lunch is included.

KID’S FISHING DERBY

It’s time again for The annual kids fishing derby sponsored by Bull Shoals Retirement Fishing Club.

Date: Saturday, August 7
Time: 8-11am; Registration begins at 7:30 am
Where: Engineers Cove at Dam Site Park.

The free event is for children 12 and younger, and includes fishing, prizes, trophies, and iced tea, lemonade, coffee and cookies. Those wanting to fish should take their own rods and reels. Bait will be provided.

BASEBALL FUNDRAISER

August 5th, 2010

The Mountain Home Cal Ripken baseball team is going to the World Series in Aberdeen, MD. A pancake supper is set 5-7 pm, today (8/5/10) at Redeemer Lutheran Church Family Life Center to raise funs for the 12 year-old team members.

The cost is $5 for adults; $3 for children 6 and older; children 5 and younger eat free.

BUFORD FD FUNDRAISER

A mystery-dinner fundraiser to benefit Buford Fire Department is set for 6pm, Saturday, June 26th, at the fire department on state Highway 126.

The adult event, by Fairview United Methodist Church, includes food and solving the mystery, “Who Done Stole the Bride?”.

The mystery dinner is free, but a love offering will be taken to benefit the fire department.

BIKER FEST

Biker Fest, a fundraiser for Forever Families of Baxter County, is set for 10am-3pm on Saturday, June 26th, at Big Spring Park in Cotter.

The event includes food, bikes and drawings. Those attending may wish to take blankets or lawn chairs. No alcohol will be permitted.
