A Public Safety Memorial Service is set to honor the memory of Baxter County emergency officials who died in the line of duty.

The memorial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at the Mountain Home Plaza, on the West side of the Baxter County Courthouse square, and is open to the public.

This year, the guest speaker will be Jim Clark, who is the director of the Criminal Justice Institute in Little Rock. The Mountain Home High School Choir will perform and the sheriff’s office honor guard will perform a 21-gun salute. The Mountain Home High School band will play Taps at the close of the ceremony.
